Why this particular story?

Well, it's impossible to read the story and not fall in love with it... And as a producer, it really caught my attention... There have been a lot of scripts submitted to me. And that`s great, I`m not complaining here; but they can barely attract interest... If you want your story to make it to a feature with us, I must hear myself say ``wow! Ok, this one is different. Very interesting!``... It cannot lack depht or originality. CineArt International Pictures is looking for that one story, that one script  that is going to break into people`s hearts and be remembered one hundred years later.

Expectations?

I hope the movie does well. I really do. The reactions and feedback are already coming in from all over the world on our website, Youtube and Myspace... and I am loving it! Will it make the list of the rare small indies that crash the box office? I don't know. But that would be nice.

Director's Notes

Being on the independent side of the film industry is a hard pill to live on. It takes twice, perhaps three times  the effort invested in a mainstream production to attract, if you’re lucky enough, half the buzz to independent films. So, one of the first assets an independent film director wants to secure while thinking about a project is a bold, striking, and exceptional story. I remember the first time I dwell on “A Bitter Kiss”. It came to me on a cold winter morning while I was being indolent in my bed in Hyde Park, Massachusetts.

Through my mind, the characters met me one after another and quickly I fell in love with them for their essence, their distinct poise and the complexity of their psyche. Fifteen minutes later, I knew I had a great story. The script follows the month after...

Life is a series of interactions between people. Some good, some bad. Whatever the case, it's life. Living it is the most important thing. In A Bitter Kiss, the characters are living it to the fullest. So, I'm glad to have met them. Now, they are on their way to meet you too.
